It's linear, for the most part. There's one memory flashback that happens in book one, but Jaslan's dreaming, and only remembers it at that moment.
In book three, things get a little weird. One character is experiencing things in current story time for them, but also in the past. I can't explain it more without spoilers. But trust me, it makes sense in context.
