In your experience of speaking to friends and colleagues about the climate crisis, do you get the impression that they actually understand what 1.5C above preindustrial temperatures actually means, let alone 2C?
I personally find that those I interact with have no real grasp of what "1.5C this and 2C that" equates to. Most of the general public seem to think a few fractions of a degree will make no practical difference to their daily life.
I really think we need a more intuitive, impactful way of speaking about this crisis.
Neoliberals starving people of a basic education in the West obviously has only compounded this problem, but that is a separate issue
