Bluesky’s already starting to melt down over Jesse Singal being there and the mods refusing to ban him.

The thing is, I really like Bluesky, but if its core user base departs and it becomes just another enshittified toilet for the alt-right to haunt I’m not going to hang around.

Simultaneously, I not only sold a pitch to a magazine editor on Bluesky this week — I sold a potential long-term partnership. For somebody who has no in-person writing network and no journalism school experience, I *need* some kind of social media where editors gather. Mastodon isn’t it, and despite the “give it time/maybe they’ll come around” wishing that happens I don’t think it will be.

No real point except that having to rely on social media sucks.
