You don't understand, if we didn't have IP law then the corporation who bought the rights to medicine discovered by some dude who died 100 years ago wouldn't be able to profit off of it anymore! The innovation created by banning anyone from producing or researching this greatly outweighs the potential innovation the thousands of dead kids could have created if they had access to life saving medicine!
