Listen I'm an avid user of FOSS but the know-how and confidence required to install, maintain, etc. is a privilege. Offering "just use Linux" blithely up every time someone complains about Windows or Apple or whatever the fuck is absolutely a weird and ugly display of nerd privilege.
Yes yes I know you don't need to be an alpha nerd to run Linux these days, but the disconnect between FOSS evangelists and most people's lived reality is pretty evident, particularly on the fediverse.
