Users incorrectly believe that unlike the web, "if it's on the App Store, it must be safe" This was particularly bad with the flood of scam 2FA apps when Twitter shifted to SMS-based 2FA. Imagine an FDA as half-assed as the App Store, accidentally only requiring cancer warnings on *some* cigarettes, leading people to buy the cigarettes that “don't cause cancer.” That's the App Store.
