I try to stay away from this stuff; it's almost always based on emotion rather than reason, but let's indulge... the "anti-AI" crowd is ridiculous. AI is a field with over 70 years of history covering a broad range ideas and tools.

First one I won't speak to; those are two separate, very loaded topics, and each is more nuanced than social media rambling can properly articulate.

Second one, how corporations use "AI" is stupid and forced, likely to make shareholders happy. And I agree: it's shit. But on a personal level, genart/LLMs have been a game changer for my creative process. And no, I don't mean "make me a thing" one-off prompting. For me, it's an optional tool. As it should be for you.

Third part, most of those building the various generative/LLM models are doing so for profit. Just like everything else companies do. That's their reason. But since many of those are being made available under liberal licenses, we might as well take advantage of them for positive uses.
