The sound on a vinyl record is immutably embodied in the object. The shape of the object is literally a 3d model of the audio waveform.
A hard drive has no such immutable correlation to the recorded sound. The audio files exist as patterns of magnetic fields on the platter, but there is a massive abstraction layer between the physical object and the sound. It needs a hardware interface to connect the drive, an OS to read the file system and software to decode the audio files, which may not even be stored contiguously on the platter.
