Panama's President to meet with Gustavo Petro and discuss Venezuelan migrants
President José Raúl #Mulino spoke about the visit of Gustavo #Petro, scheduled for tomorrow, and details the key issues that will be addressed during their meeting. Mulino highlighted in his statement that “I feel positivism in that conversation and I also believe that it is in Colombia's interest to have those agreements with #Panama. We ask for them because we do not have any kind of contact or relationship with #Venezuela. And they are documented Venezuelans. They are not Venezuelans arriving without passports, without anything. They have travel documents, identification documents. And what we are asking is that Panama be allowed to take them to #Cúcuta, which is a #border area with #Venezuela, so that from there the Venezuelan authorities can do what corresponds to allow them to enter their country, because they are not entering a third country, they are back in their country.”
