I'm not sure why, but acts of kindness always hit me harder when they're from total strangers.
I know people in my life well who I couldn't rely on for anything. People who I've gone out of my way to help.
Then there's times where people who barely know you and have nothing, will share the little they do have with you. Antisocial people on the fringes of society. It's like, "Wow. For me? Thank you!"
I guess that's why I also prefer to help strangers when I can. They seem to value it more.
