The tension on these strings is fairly low, kinda like the viola da gamba (no soundpost?) you can tell by how easy it is to move stuff. My 5 string double bass has 60+ lbs each string, that's 300+lbs at the tail, and roughly 150lbs on the bridge, it is one loud MoFo but one has to eat ones wheaties. #BaroqueSUn
