For years I taught #internationalrelations to undergraduates & would warn against uni-causal approaches to understanding #conflict... and I still would be doing so if I'd not retired.
But, I *do* think Simon Tisdall has a point about the corrosive impact of 'angry old men' on the conduct of global #politics... this is certainly not the only factor at play, but nowadays I might give it more credence (and weight) than I've done in the past...
