If the FT would think in terms just of NEW houses - ignoring all the transfers of ownership in the existing stock, as we do for cars & computers, they would be reporting fairly on the house buildings industry
But what the media does is basically report the health of estate agency, a business that depends on fees from transfers - which has no relationship to the health of UK housing
