CBDCs were implanted and accepted by the majority of the population, after this, everyone on the planet received subcutaneous implants with the threat of having their CBDC balances cancelled. A world government dictates what you can eat, where you can move, who you can talk to and what you can think, all controlled by these implants.
The birth rate has dropped to 0, most of the population has been sterilized and only an elite are allowed to have children under the supervision of the world government.
Satoshi is still alive, when he died he received a cryogenic treatment and years later he was revived.
