One thing I’ve always wanted to do is to convert a gas car to a series hybrid, like how trains work.
Use a small battery and attach an electric motor to the transmission. Charge the battery with like a 250cc generator or something. This way, you get the benefits of an electric drivetrain and the benefits of being able to refuel with gasoline
