I don't think folks realize how good Microsoft's web app alternatives have gotten compared to their native counterparts. Every few months I am shocked at how few differences there are.
The Microsoft web apps are good, comparable in reliability to Google apps. Ironically, having a Microsoft account makes it easier to switch to Linux because you can use those web apps to cross the gap from the native ones!
