Yes and no. Certainly I'm careful with how appearances and characters are perceived by readers. I always think of the women and refrigerators trope with this and make sure to avoid reinforcing stereotypes.
At the same time, it's a fantasy world and what may be normal there should not necessarily be thought of as normal here.
