I've looked into it several times already and have come to the conclusion that the large scale data centre industry in Iceland is mainly intended as providers of shelf space for cryptocurrency ASICs.
There's practically no innovation going on beyond that, except in the traditional hosting space.
Beyond local edge nodes and caching, there will never be a hypescaling could provider offering a "Nordic-3" zone with Iceland as its physical locality.
