Summary of JPL's investigation of Mars Helicopter Ingenuity’s final flight -
- Lack of features in sandy terrain caused navigation system to under-estimate vehicle speed
- Hard landing on sloping area with high lateral speed
- High rate pitch and roll caused stress on rotors spinning at 1400-2400 rpm
- Rotor blades did not make contact with ground. They snapped at their weakest point due to stress.
- Vibration caused ejection of one blade
- Loss of power and comms.
