In my time-locked mind, scholars are by definition older than me. That's why it's so strange to hear various academics on podcasts who are clearly at least a decade younger than I.
I appreciate the way modern academics easily code switch between high-falutin' talk and pop culture references. They're not as stuffy as most academics I knew in my college days.
