die hard 2 is great, but the way they crash that plane by changing the ILS beacons to the wrong ground altitude is literally _not how the instrument landing system works_
ILS doesn't broadcast altitude! the glidescope gives you a way to verify you're approacing on the right *angle*, while your altitude is measured with standard pressure and/or radar altimeters on the aircraft
