André De Kesel takes fantastically detailed insect photos using focal stacking. He stitches together hundreds of photos at slightly different distances so the resulting image is tack-sharp right through. André is a master of this and his photos are jaw-droppingly good.
I just discovered that he posted the set-up he uses to take his intricate insect photos in the field.
