Agreed that "Dark City" is a reined-in #Matrix. It does have a smaller-scale vibe despite the epic implications, which "The Matrix" cranks right up. I wish my commentary were worth reading. Others' discussions mention "Strange Days" and #eXistenZ, neither of which I've seen, along with "The Truman Show".
