Just like pets reflect their owners, "community dogs" reflect the community. Not once did I see anyone abusing or even yelling at a dog in Santa Maria. I think that's why every single street dog I met was so sweet 😻 they begged for food, of course, because #dogs will be dogs - but when you'd feed them a morsel they would take it so gingerly & politely, it was completely disarming & adorable.
This one even decided we were friends now & had a nap at my feet 💛
