When you make arguments you invite counter-arguments.
If you don't wanna all you gotta do when someone goes off on you is go: "oh, I disagree."
And if they ask you why, they may be trying to pull you into a debate, so if you don't want a debate the next thing you say is "I don't want to talk about it"
Then it's over.
And if someone keeps going after that there's always the old standard of not reading it and you can even reply "tl;dr" it's a classic and effective way to let someone know they aren't worth your time and consideration.
