People tell me my books are funny. I'm glad they find them so.
But I don't write humor, and I certainly don't write jokes.
I do my best to tell the truth. The truth is often so outrageous, so infuriating, that the only possible reactions are either to laugh, or go on a murder spree.
To subtoot another conversation I'm in: I wonder if Douglas Adams thought he was funny?
