however, the flood corresponds with the fall of the sumerian empire and the subsequent rise of the akkadians. it might just be that the sumerians used a lunar calendar, while the akkadians used a solar one. if true, then 900 "years" is the same as solar months. 900/12 = 75. no longer quite so outlandish.
