Gold has an advantage that Bitcoin does not. It has been tested since the dawn of the earth. Ice ages, solar storms, wars. You can even use #gold in space without an infrastructure.
Does this mean that #Bitcoin is useless? No, But he still has a lot of time and challenges to overcome.
