Often there is little to see at an old #battlefield. The #Battle of #Sluys of 24 June 1340 was between #England and France at the start of the Hundred Years #War. It was a #naval battle involving over 500 #ships, with England capturing most of the French ships and France losing between 16 to 20 thousand men. The site is now farmland on the #Belgium #Netherlands border, as the area silted up afterwards
