I think I can help.
Option 1: Go to Settings > Content and turn off "Avoid spam from unsafe relays (SpamSafe)". This way all content will show up from all relays, not just people you follow. (This is my personal choice)
Option 2: Go to your Relays and flip on the SpamSafe switch for all (and only) the relays that you trust to filter spam. (This is or was fiatjaf's choice)
