If I’m paying $10k for a machine, I want it to give all of its components a thorough inspection during boot. Most servers can tell you exactly which stick of RAM is bad (and some even down to the pin) or which drive in what bay is on its last leg. Consumer stuff is like playing whack a mole to find the problem.",
