Novel writers create worlds. Sarah Moss wrote Ghost Wall, which drew me forward at a “need to know what’s next!” level — really effective suspense & a true sense of stitching together the levels of the story. It is, on one plane, a story about experimental archaeology, its crossover w/wilderness survival skills, and also the personalities of academia. Beyond that, it’s a story of the boundaries of safe & unsafe, and who decides. No spoilers, so I’ll leave off here. CW DV #bookstodon #AmReading
