Went for a walk with my brother and was overwhelmed at everything—the birds of course, the insects yes, but the abundance of plant life was what got me this time. I could feel the aliveness all around, radiating even from me and my brother. I ate the wild black cherry and the wild blackberry, admired the rows of corn and wild apples not yet ready to eat, and smelled the first smell of autumn, a sort of cidery note coming from the earth.
