When we talk about the UK's success in services exports, you likely think of banking or professional services, or music and film production.... but another major export success has been the export of 'unscripted TV' formats (UK firms retain the intellectual property & licence local productions abroad of the shows).
In 2024 a third of all new unscripted TV adaptations across the world were of UK formats (which saw an 18% rise that year, reversing some years of decline).
