Nostr is the only social media where I exist.

I torched my Facebook and Instagram accounts 4 years ago when I married my based wife. Around that time, I opened a Twitter account to dive deeper into Bitcoin and stay up to date with developments. Within 2 years, I had over 4,000 followers. The attention was nice… for a time. Then the algorithm started shoving garbage engagement bait in my face, and I realized I’d wasted hundreds of hours arguing with clowns who couldn’t be reasoned with, no matter how much signal I brought.

I was glued to the screen, wasting time I should’ve spent with family, friends, or sharpening my skills. So I nuked Twitter too. I thought I might regret it. I didn’t.

Nostr turned out to be everything I was looking for - real and signal-rich. Best part? I don’t have to deal with shitcoiners (aside from the occasional Monero bros, but I usually just ignore them too).
