Why invade CONUS? Hawaii and Alaska are far more do-able and have great strategic, and for Alaska economic, value. The last country with a shot at invasion, Imperial Japan, took a similar approach (air strikes on Oahu and actually invading the Aleutians).
If you own Hawaii you can easily interdict all US trade going to the West Coast ports without a CONUS invasion and air/missile/drone power in Alaska might make the US physical possession of the West Coast meaningless.
