Since 99% of the Macs that I use in the field for professional use are racked… this is sheer idiocy.
It’s right up there with the ‘new’ Mac Pro form factor… which also, quite infamously, could not be racked in a “shallow” rack.
Or the previous ‘cheesegrater’ Mac Pros, which had to have the handles cut off to get them into (non-moving) racks at various shops.
While the ‘trashcan’ Mac Pros had different design problems, you could at least put two of them into a 4RU ‘shallow’ rack.
