I shouldn't waste time running git status at the start of my day, especially on repos where I know I'm the guy. I should always run pull.
It's one thing if I'm working on my own branch but if I'm working on a global like develop it has /always/ changed since the last time I modified it, and if it hasn't then pulling 0 changes wouldn't hurt anything.
