The thing about writing - about continuing to write - is that you have to be able to accept that you may never get anywhere. That you may never publish, and if you do publish, it might not go well.
Because all you can control are the words and what you do with them. If you wrap your self-esteem in something outside of your control, you're just asking for trouble.
It doesn't seem like that when you're just starting out. A dream of publication may feel like it's what's keeping you going. Don't let it be that. Art for art's sake, because that's all we've got.
