In case you don't know... Rinsers vs Wipers is what I expect to be one of the biggest debates in internet history as people start engaging with more and more people from cultures vastly different then theirs.
Currently even though the internet allows for people from all over the world to talk to each other we somehow generally engage with people from shared cultures/practices, rinsers general engage in internet communities with other rinsers and the same with wipers (probably because digital social networks are usually clones of real life social networks, unless they are formed around an interest group). Worse of all as more engagement becomes digital, these groups never know or learn about the existence of the other as much as they used to learn when we would travel more. Today travel may be at an all time high but the probability that a wiper stays at a wiper accommodating hotel within a rinser country are high due to how search "engines" surface "cultural" congruent options (even when a traveller checks reviews of properties individually they will probably be reading reviews of other travellers from within their own hygenic practice because of how apps are regional).
Now to why a more connected internet will bring these two groups into fated debate. One trend we've started seeing, due to digital privacy becoming so minimal, is people increasingly publicly sharing more and more things that used to be part of "private" conversation between a small group of people they trust. The small group of trusted people is now a small corner of the internet (made up of people from vastly different cultures). At this point it's inevitable to not have a knee jerk response and debate one of the first rinser/wiper you unknowingly regularly interact with online.
I hope the best method comes up on top so humanity can all practice whatever is best between rinsing or wiping.
An unexpected entry to the rinsers vs wipers internet saga.
