County competition in informatics. Number of tasks = 3.
The tasks on the test were compiled by IT clubs for children.
Out of 200 possible points, the highest score achieved at the national level was 71 points.
My thirteen-year-old son had 68 points.
Since no one in the country scored more than 71 points, there was no national competition (which leads to direct enrollment in some high schools).
The professor, who has been taking students to computer science competitions for years, says that for years they have been fighting against computer science clubs compiling tests for the competition because they are not in line with education in computer science at that age level.
Of the three tasks, only the first one was at the level of knowledge expected from a 14-year-old child.
I wonder if the clubs also compile tasks for competitions in physics or mathematics at the county level 🙄
Next week my son is going on a county competition from chemistry. I'm very interested to hear about the tests there.
