Last night's #eurocorn was another great success. Among the topics discussed were Noshole (nprofile…9400)'s creative process and the enormous pressures put on her and Puzzl35 (nprofile…txfj) by their artistic mothers. We briefly touched on solar powered people zapping and the possibility of getting arrested for it.
We also learned about the plan for dan 🍞 (nprofile…xfg7)'s note toasting before it happened and Puzzl35 (nprofile…txfj) told us that he really created puzzles in his early days on Nostr. In that moment a stroke of genius landed and we realized that there is no Geocaching clone on Nostr. This definitely needs to change.
Then we shared our grievances about various Nostr clients, explored ways of connecting a Nostr Wallet for instant zapping and discussed Vibe Coding with Agi Choote (nprofile…js2v) and Pattern (nprofile…aaay). Around the 1hr mark we realized that not a single euro-centric topic was discussed. So we extracted some travel plans from our non-European member triskal (nprofile…0s3g) and this talk naturally evolved into a debate of globalization and loss of national identity.
Around the 2hr mark we had a computer nostalgia moment with tigs (nprofile…xtmn), recovering our early memories of chatting on IRC, copping code from magazines and playing simple games, but also the impact of unlocking 486 without a key on a child... The rest of the evening we talked about raising children and protecting them without shielding them completely. I tried to steer the conversation to ethics of developing of GLP-1 resistant drugs, but that debate died out fast and instead we explored apps for food quality detection... Yuka and Open Food Facts.
Right before midnight, it was just me and Agi Choote (nprofile…js2v) discussing practical questions and plans for the BitcoinFilmFest (nprofile…gd8n).
Thanks should also go to Yojimble (nprofile…59dy), Kajoozie Maflingo (nprofile…gplw), hermes (nprofile…n6g7), N3WD3V (nprofile…8te6) and few unnamed heroes who had the patience to mostly listen to us talk.
