TJ of the Side-Eye on Nostr: Fort Bragg was originally named after a Confederate General, so it was renamed Fort ...
Fort Bragg was originally named after a Confederate General, so it was renamed Fort Liberty. Folks wanted to undo the change, except it turns out the other problem with General Braxton Bragg is that he was a terrible general, regardless of politics.
So the fort has been renamed after some other guy named Bragg - Private First Class Roland L. Bragg:
"He was a World War II hero who earned a Purple Heart for his service in the 17th Airborne Division during the Battle of the Bulge. "
