yes.
1. decentralization adds a lot of usability jank, people don't actually want decentralization so the value proposition to accept jank is nonexistent for them.
2. lack of one global view of the network is considered confusing by most and unacceptable by many.
3. people generally actually want working, top-down global moderation, Fediverse's attempt to implement this through Fediblock has balkanized the entire network. (not saying moderation is bad, not saying you need to put up with abuse. Just that what we have works incredibly bad and this may be architecturally unavoidable.)
4. A lot of people want good search and don't really care about privacy or corporations or at-risk communities' safety.
The gossamer thread through every bullet point here is that decentralization is hard and has significant tradeoffs and there is no indication that the masses care or can be forced to care about it; and that BlueSky is not decentralized, if it ever actually became meaningfully decentralized, it would become messy like here.
