Because if the water at a river crossing gets deeper than most trucks / jeeps can take, Vegagerðin will close the roads and I won't be able to (legally) get there, so what would any more matter?
Most of our river currents are too fast for any sort of "improvised" boat anyway. Hazardous even for proper boats.
What I *really* want to see is the warranty, re: water.
