So while these EU decisions seem to be largely anti-big-tech I think there’s an angle here worth considering: the EU worries about putting all of their tech eggs, and those of their citizens, in the increasingly dicey looking American basket. Nobody is sure what this next US election will bring and that uncertainty is exactly what is troubling. It doesn’t help that a US company just accidentally proved how disruptive to infrastructure a single point of failure can be.
