That's an amazingly difficult situation!
They wanted to give me a tetanus shot when I almost cut my finger off (around 2016, actually) but I happened to look it up, and found that only around 6 people a year get it.
Too me that indicates a non-threat, and with the volume of those shots going out, there MUST be an alternative motive.
