I worried about the service/server/dataset loss, not the previous disappearance of "MozStumbler", because on the "collector app" side of things, I had found this a while ago: https://f-droid.org/en/packages/info.zamojski.soft.towercollector/ … and it seemed to work well.
If a community of anarcho-syndicalists would find a Method & Apparatus (i.e. jurisdiction, team, servers, & data safeguards) to reinvent #Mozilla Location Services as a patent-troll-proof solution, it might work.
