the term "antisemitic" was invented in 1879 by antisemites as a self definition and a more presentable word for "Judenhass" (hatred of Jewish people). So historically it refers specifically only to Jewish people.
Of course the misuse to stifle any criticism of the Israeli government is a huge problem. But there is certainly still a need for this term, without diluting and distorting its origins and meanings. That doesn't help us to achieve anything.
Your later statement "the whole antisemitism thing is bs..." is also more than problematic.
Let's be clear in how we name injustice and take action against it, but we should also be aware of history and of what's actually going on now.
And to the original post, there are a lot of similarities here in Germany, there is so much repression against pro-Palestine protest, the government making big talk against anti-semitism but only focussing on criticism of Israel. Etc etc.
