It does seem that way.

Mostly people are meeting each other at work, where dating is kinda taboo. But spending a full day at work, and then having to do a second job of filtering candidates...seems like an impossible task.

Here, however, it's like a return to a college dorm environment where there is comradery. You learn more about people around you naturally with no pressure. I've heard of college dorms in Germany after the WWs where each room was shared by a college student and a trade apprentice. So the trade apprentices got the benefit of the college parties, and the college student got the benefit of odd jobs I think.

Nostr is similar to that model where creatives and builders of all types can congregate.

The only thing that's missing is questionnaires about what is important to people. But that might be hard to get out of people.

Some people here may not even say what their favorite flavor of cake is lest it reveal a vulnerability.

I need to look up a book on compatibility. What makes people compatible.

Years ago OKCupid had a compatibility score and I always found it was inversely related to how much i enjoyed the other person. The more similar they were to me, the quicker we said goodbye on the first date.
